How to Pack for a Trip to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador: Embrace the Unexpected
It's no secret that the weather in Newfoundland and Labrador has a mind of its own. Nestled on the eastern edge of Canada, where the North Atlantic meets our rugged coastlines, our capital city of St. John's and its surrounding communities experience a unique blend of summer and fall climates that can surprise even the most seasoned travelers.
A Bedtime Story for Design Lovers
For the design of Dvele Inn, owner Susan Drover envisioned a seamless blend of historic details and modern furniture and accessories, always planning to create something very unique to the tourism property market in Newfoundland & Labrador. Inspired by her travels, particularly in Europe, she wanted to create a vibe that made guests feel like they were at home — but better. The jumping-off point was the wallpaper, and from here, the design was born. Arbutus, a paper originally designed by Kathleen Kearly, a member of the Morris & Co. design team, was designed on the eve of the First World War in 1914. Morris & Co. designs come with a rich backstory that all started with William Morris, a man who pioneered patterns that still resonate today.
